Saw this on the iRacing forum. Imagine if iRacing ever got this car! I think it looks cool as hell (but admittedly weird):

The Drew Scanlon Special: A racecar that looks like a plane!
Yeah the Deltawing is a pretty crazy concept. Even with the explanation in that video, I still don't really understand how it turns as well as it does with such a narrow front-end... magic I guess.
@iron1c: Yeah it was fun watching it race. Even if it didn't set the greatest lap times.
are they still racing it? I thought Nissan pulled out and I'm not sure what happend to it after that.
I think they where making a new version with a roof so they could enter it into LeMans proper...
Panoz took over the DeltaWing and changed the engine, tires and put a roof on it, and plan to enter it in the new series that was formed when ALMS merged with Grand-Am.
Meanwhile, the guy who designed the DeltaWing went to work with Nissan on a hybrid-powered car that looks almost exactly like the DeltaWing. They will be the special entry at Le Mans I think, and also Panoz is suing them.
Let's not forget that the DeltaWing was originally intended to be the new IndyCar design. That didn't quite work out, as the Dallara DW12 car won IndyCar's favor instead, but where this whole design has spun off from there is pretty fascinating. The idea that a futuristic IndyCar is competing in endurance races among prototypes is rather cool to me, and it certainly looks like nothing else on track.
The DeltaWing's in GT6, at least. It's a nimble and peppy little car -- one of the more entertaining prototypes -- if my experience trying it out at PAX Prime is accurate.
I liked that it was justified by the fiction and it made sense as a vehicle... and that it was ugly. That was all cool to me.
Anyways though, this would be a good Batmobile.
It also looks like a Speeder from Star Wars.
