Born in Queens, New York in 1939.
Friedman started his career in the toy industry in the 1960's where he worked as a sales representative for a toy maker. He worked in the toy industry up until 1970 when he founded LJN and resided as the president until 1989 when he would move on to his next project, THQ.
Friedman established THQ (Toy Head Quarters) in 1989 with his own money during his tenure in the toy industry and would serve as the President of THQ until1995, when he co-founded Jakks Pacific which specialized in toys including the then WWF (now known as WWE) action figures.
Jack Friedman died on May 3, 2010 at the age of 70 from a blood disorder and will be remembered for his contribution to the toy and gaming industries.
