    I think I might be one of the last Jagged Alliance fans left standing, but I thought I'd post this just in case anyone out there was interested. Steam has a weekend deal of Kalypso games, including a pre-order offer on this game. It's scheduled to come out in the first quarter of 2012, and they have several pictures and a CGI video.

    Good talk. Big Gulps, huh? Well, see ya later.

    I got hype! Totally stoked to see some renewed interest in this franchise! I used to love me some Jagged Alliance back in the day.

    Pre-order discount offer is back, 15% off: http://store.steampowered.com/app/57740/. And with an actual release date (Feb 9), this probably won't be vapourware. No guarantees about crapware though...

    As a huge JA fanboy, I'll still probably pick this up. It's just that JA2 1.13 adds so much gameplay that probably won't be replicated in this rerelease; it'll be like going back to GTA 3 after playing GTA V.

    The gameplay videos look interesting.

    The shitstorm going around is mostly about the game not being turn-based, but real-time with pausing for commands. Kinda like those old Commandos games.

    @Dredlockz:

    Yeah, agreed. Some of the descriptions I've read have stated vaguely that there might be an option for classic turn-based, but I'm honestly not 100% sure on that. Finding solid previews anywhere of this game is a rough ordeal.

    @Sparky_Buzzsaw:

    Yeah, I just found out there was a sequel coming out in 3 weeks myself, hard to find info on it.

    I'm actually optimistic about this new sequel, of course people that played the original will just want to get the original game again, and will probably want to kill themselves because of all the tedious methodical micromanagement involved (which I loved at the time, but get frustrated with nowadays (The original JA came out like 13 years ago (we're old))).

    So the new control mechanics shown in the gameplay trailers seems interesting to me, hope they are fun to play with as well.

    Also, that new X-COM: Enemy Unknown game from Firaxis, hope that's awesome too.

    @Dredlockz: I actually found a PC Gamer demo disc a while back with the Jagged Alliance demo. That was what hooked me in the first place. Now THAT made me feel old.

    Same here! I didn't know this game was coming out until I looked at steam's store page about two weeks ago. I love the idea of one of my "old" favorites getting a modern day revamp.

    And the new X-Com looks awesome! I'm glad its in the hands of Firaxis.
