Lollipop Chainsaw
On August 1st, 2011, James Gunn announced that he was working on his first video game project, Lollipop Chainsaw, with Suda 51 and Grasshopper Manufacture. Gunn came on board after being shown some early test footage of the game. Gunn helped to write characters, story and dialogue for the game that will affect both the Japanese and English versions of the game.
Guardians of the Galaxy films
He later went on to direct the Marvel blockbuster movie Guardians of the Galaxy, for which he is best known as a filmmaker. In both Lollipop Chainsaw and Guardians of the Galaxy, he uses the song "Cherry Bomb" as part of the soundtracks. He also directed the 2017 sequel. He got fired after problematic tweets resurfaced in 2018. However, he got rehired after he started working on The Suicide Squad and Peacemaker for DC. He is working on a holiday special and third Guardians film.
