Jazz Jackrabbit is back in his second adventure, this time accompanied by his brother Spaz.

Concepts

2D

Sure, these days have almost every game sporting the newfangled 3D, but way back when, everyone had to live with plain old 2D. 2D, or two dimensions, limit the game to scrolling backgrounds, but some games even now make use of this basic concept.
2D Depth Attack

An illusive effect in games with 2D graphics where a character attacks the player so that it seems like the attack came from either behind or in front of the screen.
Abandonware

Abandonware refers to computer software that is no longer sold nor supported, sometimes because of unclear copyright ownership reasons.
Air Current

Air moving with a considerable force from an area of high pressure to an area of low pressure. Used in games to slow things down, speed them up, or make them hover.
Animal Companions

Animals that follow you or help you on your journey.
Animal Protagonists

Games that have animals as the main character. The character must be playable.
Been Here Before

When the player character (re)visits a certain area or location that was also present in a previous game, or visited later on in the same game, with some alterations.
Bird

Winged, flying creatures that often perch on branches, and defecate on unfortunate victims below.
Boss Fight

A boss fight is a culminating challenge that pits the player against one or more enemies representing a greater threat and/or difficulty than those previously faced. These scenarios typically feature unique antagonists.
Bosses

Video game bosses are usually the main antagonist, and arch nemesis of the main protagonist. In most cases the end of a game is when the main character defeats the final boss.
Boulder Getaway

There's a boulder out to get you! Boulders one has to escape are often implemented in games as a homage to Indiana Jones.
Cartoon Cutscene

Hand-drawn or computer-generated animation.
Caterpillar

The larval stage of a butterfly or moth.
Checkpoints

A point within the game whereby the game saves its current state whether it be for the purpose of a more convenient respawn point or a gameplay design (such as in racing).
Climbing

Climbing is a common tradition in games, particularly platformers. There is often a particular type of surface that can be climbed, and it has a recognizably different look than other surfaces in the game. Climbing ladders or stairs doesn't count.
Crab

Crabs in all forms and sizes, not just the giant enemy variety.
Crawling

Crawling is a form of locomotion in which a person lies down and uses the hands and knees to move around, or by dragging the body along the ground.
Crouching

Crouching is an essential part of many shooters and plastformers, and can be useful to stay under cover and avoiding incoming projectiles
Double Jump

Spaz has the ability to jump mid-air.
Easter Egg

An Easter Egg is an intentionally hidden cheat or hidden content in video game,also confirmed as ''Secret.''
Enemy Spawner

Enemy Spawners are living or non-living entities that "spawn" enemies under special conditions. Usually, these Spawners must be destroyed in order to stop a never ending flow of hostile threats.
Extra Life

Earning an extra life, either by collecting a 1up or by hitting a certain score.
Falling Object

Falling Debris or other stuff you have to evade.
Fish

Cold-blooded aquatic animals that have scales and breathe through gills.
Freeware

Freeware games are those which have their full versions legally free to download.
Freezing Weapons

Weapons that kill by freezing your enemies to death.
Game Reference

The concept of a game referencing another game through mockery, parody or even directly. A game reference to the same franchise does not count.
Gravity

Gravity is a physical phenomenon, specifically the mutual attraction between all objects in the universe. In a gaming setting, gravity determines the relationship between the player and the "ground," preventing the player or game objects from flying off into space, and hopefully acting in a predictable/realistic manner.
Ground Pound

The ground pound is a move where a person in midair somehow makes themselves strike the ground with more force than if they had merely landed. Popularly known as the "butt stomp" due to Super Mario 64's variant, which appeared as though Mario was attacking foes with his ass.
Hip Hop

These half-pheasant/half-eagles have been captured by Devan and his turtle goons. If Jazz frees one, it will aid him until the next time he take damage.
