So I got bored and searched "Jeff Gerstmann" and found this:

thats a great find, i didnt know thats how Jeff started out, now i must hear more and find that video.

Well, this is already fantastic, since Blaster was the magazine that Jeff worked at that folded within months (leading to him joining Gamespot). Also young Jeff was apparently a graphics whore, kinda like modern Brad.

Jeff had never been to Miami until Captivate 2011 IIRC, as described on the April 11, 2011 three man bombcast. I'm sure the Miami Herald just called him because they wanted to run a story about the game those crazy kids were playing.

Well he still highly values all of those things. He always remarks when shooters have "Good weapon reports" for example, and I agree, it certainly sets Battlefield apart from similar shooters.

and I hope he can stay doing this for a long time still. He is a true veteran.

Wow, Jeff has been doing this for a while. Judging by that picture of him when he's 16, he's been doing it since before I was born. That's pretty crazy.
