Jeff "Joker" Moreau is the pilot of the Normandy in Mass Effect. Joker was born with a hereditary disease that caused the bones in his legs to become brittle enough that they broke while still in his mother's womb. Growing up, Joker lived on the Alliance colony of Arcturus and was constantly surrounded by military types. Knowing he couldn't run headlong into battle and face the enemy up close, Joker chose another path. After enrolling in flight school, his instructors gave him the nickname "Joker" due to his apparent seriousness about becoming the best pilot in the Alliance fleet. Joker graduated top of his class and is considered to be one of the best, if not the best, pilot in the colonial fleet. He is voiced by Seth Green.Jeff "Joker" Moreau games
