If it turns out well, who cares who wrote it, we NEED more actual scary games and I hope this will be.

This is definitely Midwest inspired game that I'm not sure people in other parts of the country would really understand without seeing it. If memory serves Chobot went to Oberlin and is from Buffalo? If so that's likely where she drew the inspiration.

If you live around the Great Lakes region, there are scores of huge old school empty heavily decayed urban buildings that have been empty for decades left behind as people moved out to the burbs .Given law changes how society handles mentally ill a lot of them are former Mental Asylums.

About the time Chobot was in hear teens and early twenties it was a pretty popular thing to go break in some of these places and have "spelunking" adventures. Since then cities have rebounded some and there are a lot less vacant and unmaintained buildings then there used to be. But during the 90's- early 2000's, this was a definitely a thing kids did.
