They're both fantastic games but I personally prefer the original game. Let me once again qualify that I love them both though.
Jet Set Radio
Jet Set Radio is an unconventional platforming roller-skating series that involves the player in creating graffiti on key locations throughout a futuristic and lavishly designed Tokyo. It is also the first video game to feature cel-shaded graphics.
Jet Set Radio Or Jet Set Radio Future?
" They're both fantastic games but I personally prefer the original game. Let me once again qualify that I love them both though. "Well I'm not asking you to choose one and pull the trigger on the other. I'm just asking which game do you like best.
For me, I choose the original game as well. I think it's mainly because the second game didn't have the same charm as the original; the second game did have many gameplay improvements but the music in the game wasn't as upbeat as the original, it was more serious. And the level design got even crazier, obviously it was partly due to the fact that the game took place in the future and the developer took full advantage of that.
Even though it was a re-imaging, but it was almost like the developer forgot what was the style of the original. Now don't get me wrong I still love the second game overall; it was the reason why I bought the original Xbox.
Jet Grind Radio (NA name) was much better, and that game and its sequel are prime examples of how atmosphere affects experience.
Played neither sadly, but from what I've seen of both games, I like the original. The characters looked much better in that one I think. (especially Gum. I like her outfit in JGR better than JSRF)
" JSRF had such an effect on me that picking the other would be wrong on many personal levels. "I kind of felt the same way about the original.
WTF people voted for the original?
JSRF was about 4 times longer to play through, areas were much bigger and more interesting, much more content, of course better graphics, more music...
I imported the original JSR for Dreamcast but it was just too short & shallow compared to JSRF.
" First. I felt Future lost some of the charm, visually and gameplay wise. "Yeah, I felt the same way too. Like the music for example, it was more serious and less upbeat than the original.
I picked the original as well... possibly because I played it first... but both games are awesome.
I do enjoy the spraypaint method in the first game better, as well as the music.
I played a lot of both as well.
I felt Future kept all the good of the original and improved on it, so I'm goin with future.
" I'm playing through Jet Set Radio for the first time and I've gotta say, I'm kinda disappointed. Sure, I like the art style and soundtrack, but it controls like shit. Also, I wish I could just roll around without having cops teargas me every five seconds. "What was your expectation, to be better than the second game? You do know it's the original game, right?
I have notice that everyone is choosing the second game because they haven't played the first, so I guess the second wins by default.

JSR > JSRF
Equally both. But im going with the amount of hours put in...
and it looks like JSRF is the winner.
Still i cant decide on both, they are like my childrens. I LOVE THEM ALL!
