Second, it totally is relevant to the page because it IS Jimmy. Third, it was funny, and part of the point of this site is to have fun, which is why we have an entire page devoted to hamburgers. Fourth, if people want more information they can read the article.. the blurb isn't supposed to tell you the whole story. The current blurb basically describes the entire first sentence of the article, thus making the current blurb dry, pointless, and unamusing.
EDIT: Disregard that last sentence, the blurb has changed since then... the current one is better, if a bit wordy.

While true, the definition is awfully circular. That would almost be like opening a dictionary and seeing "a pear is a pear." They're not being false, but it isn't helpful. As a contributer, I understand the desire for humor, but the blurb is to give an overview of the subject, not to see how clever you are. I reference a lot of things here and like the summary so I don't have to read the description to see what's it all about. I have little idea who the character is, so I don't know if "This is Jimmy" is "part" of the game or not. If it is, I'd say "This is Jimmy" then go on to describe him briefly and mention the games he's in. I'd rather have it a bit long winded (it can only be up to 50 words), than be cutesy and say almost nothing.
One exception could be something so common, you really don't have to say much about it. if someone made a pie page and someone just typed "I like pie" I wouldn't mind because pretty much everyone knows what pie is. Not that many people know who Jimmy is to warrant that.
