    Overview

    Joe Kaminkow was one of the founders of Data East Pinball, which later became Sega Pinball and then again changed to Stern Pinball. Before helping found Data East Pinball, Joe worked at Williams Pinball Inc. and was the person responsible for acquiring the Space Shuttle license from NASA. Joe became known for being the go to person for getting licenses for pinball machines. In 1998 Joe departed Stern Pinball to become Vice President of Product Development for IGT, who is the largest maker of slot machines.

    Achievements

    • Joe was a speaker at the 2002 DICE Summit discussing how to apply slot machine design to creative video games that can grab the attention of the players.
    • Joe was inducted into the Pinball Hall of Fame in 2004.
    • Joe was also featured in a TV show entitled: Jackpot!: The Real Story of Slot Machines, which is a documentary of all things slot machines.
