The act of bending at the knees from a standing position. Crouching is an essential part of many shooters and platformers, and can be used by players to stay behind cover or avoid incoming projectiles.

It's easy to lose oneself in the heat of battle. Luckily, some games will alert the player as to when they are close to death.
Penalties to movement speed. How far/fast the player can walk. This may depend upon difficult terrain and what type of gear is being carried.
Physics play an important part in this game in solving puzzles and/or combat. Notable examples include the Gravity Gun from Half-Life 2, and the Force Powers from Star Wars: Force Unleashed.
A cutscene that is viewed through the eyes of the protagonist or some other character. POV stands for "point of view".
Psychopaths are noted for generally lacking a conscience, getting enjoyment from various forms of destruction, and an inability to learn from their mistakes.
A gameplay mechanic which allows the player to move faster than the normal speed. Usually for a set amount of time.
Using stealth often requires the player to accomplish their objective without being detected by enemies. Methods of detection can vary from game to game, and can be based on an enemy's line of sight, how quiet the player is, or even how the player interacts with the environment.
Survival is a concept that signifies that the player's life is constantly in jeopardy.
When a protagonist chooses to walk as a default instead of jogging or running. The character will opt to walk even with a full tilt of the control stick.
