Kamen Rider is the catch-all franchise for a variety of manga and live-action tokusatsu television series created by Shotaro Ishinomori and serialized in Japan from 1971 to the present day. 23 weekly television serials, six standalone movies, two American adaptations, and various other works chronicle the adventures of a rotating stable of motorcycle-riding masked superheroes using martial arts, shiny toyetic weapons, and sundry other means to combat evil organizations, alien invaders, giant enemy crabs, and whatever else happens to think it can mess with Japan that week.
Being a property of Toei and Namco Bandai and nominally aimed at the male 6-18 demographic, Kamen Rider in all its forms possesses plenty of merchandising potential, including a fairly regular stream of video game adaptations. Among the most popular is the Kamen Rider: Climax Heroes series, a 3D one-on-one (and sometimes one-on-more) fighter for multiple consoles. Installments of Climax Heroes generally focus on the currently-airing Rider series, with current entrant Super Climax Heroes giving the star treatment to the dragon-summoning, gun-on-a-sword-wielding Kamen Rider Wizard. In a similar vein is the All Kamen Rider: Rider Generation miniseries of brawlers, which puts two heroes into a stage-by-stage slugfest with assorted mooks and monsters culled from the franchise's 40+-year history.
Various incarnations of Kamen Rider have also been known to appear in crossover titles published by Bandai, particularly the Great Battle series which features one or more recently-aired Riders alongside Ultraman and Gundam. The most recent installment is Great Battle Full Blast.
