The region explored in the first generation of Pokémon adventures. Home to the original 151 Pokémon found in Pokémon Red, Blue, Green, Yellow, Fire Red, and Leaf Green. This is also an additional region in Pokémon Gold,Silver and Crystal.

The region of Kanto is based on the actual region of Japan. It is featured prominently in many of the Pokemon games.

It is home to such notable personalities as Professor Oak, Bill the Pokemaniac, Ash Ketchum, and Giovanni of Team Rocket.

Pallet Town - N/A
Viridian City - Giovanni (ground-type Pokémon)
Pewter City - Brock (rock-type Pokémon)
Cerulean City - Misty (water-type Pokémon)
Vermilion City - Lt. Surge (electric-type Pokémon)
Celadon City - Erika (grass-type Pokémon)
Saffron City - Sabrina (psychic-type Pokémon)
Lavender Town - N/A
Fuchsia City - Koga (poison-type Pokémon)
Cinnabar Island - Blaine (fire-type Pokémon)

If a Pokemon Trainer earns a Gym Badge from each of the eight Gym Leaders in the region, he or she is granted access to the Indigo Plateau, where he or she must face off with the Elite Four: Lorelei, Bruno, Agatha, and Lance.
