In the Star Wars universe it is the home of the Wookiees.
Kashyyyk is the Wookie homeworld in the Star Wars Galaxy. It is seen on film in Star Wars Episode II, and it plays a large role in the expanded universe fiction. The surface of Kashyyyk is covered in kilometers-high trees, called wroshyrs. On top on these trees, the Wookies built platforms and houses, carving thier society into and around these living behemoths. The Wookie society also embraced the forest floor as sacred ground, called the ShadowLands. Young Wokkies would descend down to the forest floor to face the dangers there, and if they succeeded, they would emerge as an adult.Kashyyyk games
