As Minato starts hanging out with Kenji more, he starts to talk about his crush, being that of Ms. Emiri Kanou, a teacher in their school. Kenji becomes deeply in love with her, creating an illusion to himself that they're in love with each other. He starts talking about his future plans, such as wanting to marry her after he graduates, because Kenji thinks that she is in love with him as well. While Kenji and Minato are hanging out one day, he sees Ms. Kanou with another man. Upon seeing this, Kenji quickly becomes heartbroken, and runs away crying. After Minato cheers him up, Kenji realizes that since he's only fooling himself. Kenji thanks Minato for being there for him, and declares him his best friend, even giving Minato a choker he made himself as a sign of their friendship. He promises to start acting more mature, especially around girls, preferrably, his age.
When the player is successful in maxing out the Magician Social Link the player has been granted access to fuse the persona Surt in the Velvet Room.

Overview
Kenji Tomochika is one of Minato's classmates attending Gekkoukan High School and eventually, one of his best friends. Kenji is immature, and has a strong taste for older women. The Magician Arcana Social Link can be established once a certain event is triggered.Story
The player first meets Kenji at the beginning of the game. The main character is suddenly the most talked about student right after he transfers to Gekkoukan High School. This is caused when he is seen walking with Yukari Takeba at the first day. Since Yukari is highly popular in Gekkoukan High (especially with the guys), the buzz starts to spread about him. Minato catches Kenji's attention, and starts to talk to him, since they are in the same homeroom class. In the game, the player automatically starts getting acquainted with Kenji as he opens up, establishing the Magician Social Link with him.Social Link
