    Overview

Kick Off began as a 1989 Amiga and Atari ST game which was released to rave reviews by the European press. The series would continue to grow for a time, even as series creator Dino Dini left Anco to create soccer games elsewhere. After Kick Off 3, Kick Off was relaunched a few more times but would never see a similar level of popularity again. Many fans felt the game Sensible Soccer surpassed it.

The series also received a spin-off: Player Manager. In this game, the player could manage their team between matches. They could then play as their managed team in matches which were based on Kick Off's engine.
