No reason not to pick this up

The drop ship has landed and it is finally time to kick some Helgast ass! Aw yes, one of the most anticipated games on the PS3 is finally on store shelves. And now the smoke has lifted, what does it reveal, does it deliver on all the promises? Or more importantly should I buy this? I will not waste your time any further and just give you the answer. HELL YEA you should buy it!

Wait so is this game that good? Yes. So should I go buy it? yyyyeeeessss. Ok enough of this one-sided argument and just explain why you should buy this.

Lets start with the basics single player campaign. There are levels with different difficulty levels. Through each level there are collectables and breakables. Basic stuff, now how is the story? Well to be honest it is okay. It is not too deep but through the game it gets a bit more personal. But in a whole it gives the player the since of worthlessness. In the beginning you have basically no significant role, you are just a solider. Then at the end your team gets more of a significant objective. And all this is confirmed at the end with what happeneds. But lets be honest this is a first person shooter, a deep story would be nice but gunplay is what is most important and this game delivers.

I am just going to throw this out here, the controls take some time to get used to. Especially if you have been playing COD4 for the past year. So this takes some dedication, at first they feel very strange but by the time you get to the second level they start to make a lot of sense. They have weight, so you can not do those fast turn around and be able to quickly line your shot. This slows down the game, which is nice break from all these run and gun shooters out there. In single player they have a cover system this surprisely works. Most of the time these first person cover systems just make the game awkward but here is comes in handy. So in all you have to really think about how to proceed and make sure you cleared an area before processing, so no speed running. The game also uses the six axis controller to do things like plant bombs or c4, as well as in the loading screens you can move the holographic image around.

Now comes the best part of the game, and the best part in most FPSs. The multiplayer. I think the MP in Killzone is very smartly done. The games are not just TDM or CTF but all of the game modes in one game (you can omit a game type when you make a game if you so please). So at first it maybe TDM but once the frag limit is hit the games switches to search and destroy, putting constant pressure on the player. Another thing is the rank system, like the controls it seems weird at first but once you start to rank up you see why this was done. See when you start out you only can get 2 guns to choose from and no special skills. Only when you rank up do you unlock lets say the shotgun or the medic class. So the game makes you work for it and makes player around you more dependent on each other. But it is not too hard to level up fully, you could get to the 3 star rank in about a week if you played a few hours a day. And it is totally worth it, the sniper/scout class is amazing. There is clan support which does its job. Though I do wish there was a party system, you want to join your friends you can hope into that game, but there is no guarantee that you will be on the same team.

Also a quick note is that their site for killzone is very nice, has all your stats and more. Really goes in deep to get all the information you would ever want.

So if you have a PS3 and enjoy FPS then you have no reason not to pick this up.

Dazzling technical display that should have been so much more 0

Killzone 2 reviewed on PlayStation 3 It is generally considered that to criticise something for what it does not do is fallacious. After all, it deserves to be judged on its own merits in isolation from what it may or may not have been, and to do so could prove a disservice to its creators. Killzone 2 is ostensibly a shooting game and what it does, it does pretty well. The control scheme is adeptly tailored to the two stick set-up, its visuals are gloriously bombastic and the action itself is m...

      Guerrilla Delivers 0

Killzone 2 probably has one of the most storied histories of any game in the past decade. In its now legendary E3 2005 premiere trailer it became the poster boy for the potential power of the Playstation 3. For the next four years speculation, and hype, or whether or not it could live up to this promise ran wild. Well, the game has finally arrived and I can honestly say that Killzone 2 has set the bar far above for any shooters to follow it on the PS3.You can't start any serious discussion witho...
