eh, i don't rely on review scores. i am a pretty good judge of what I feel I would like based on the information available for any given game. I only buy games I feel I will personally like regardless of review scores. 
 
I feel like I will enjoy KZ3... so I will buy it.

8.5 THIS GAME SUCKS

Joystiq (3.5/5) and Destructoid (10/10) just claimed the bookend spots on meta. So there you are. Whether you're sick of KZ, or you can't get enough, you know where to go.

As long as that Rico guy shuts up and dies, it would be like Citizen Kane compared to Killzone 2.

I played through KZ2 smacking the friendly AI with butt of my gun because I hated them so.  Thankfully, they would stumble, cry out, and grab their head, so it remained funny and allowed me to play through the game.  I don't care what the action is like, if I am surrounded by characters I actively hate, then I don't want to play.  So, as long as I can still smack them around, I'll be fine.

Meh, personally KZ2 was the most disappointing of all my PS3 exclusives, so I'm not really shocked.

 I love how commenters will try and put a seemingly logical spin on it by saying something like "8.5? I don't know, seems a little biased, from what I've seen this definitely deserves a 9.5, 9.0 at least, that'd be fair."     

I'm loving the "beta", so I'll be getting it.

If Rico is the last boss then this game deserves a 10.

Anyway, I absolutely love these games. Even the first one which is universally known as a pretty shitty game. Love the realistic sci-fi, the tone and most of all that it feels like I`m controlling an actual person instead of a floating gun.

Bugs the crap out of me though that they doesn’t use all that incredible fiction they’ve written for the universe. The story does suck, and it`s a damn shame. They do have the potential to make something grand and epic like Halo or Mass effect, but instead they give us Rico. Unbelievable.

i have been enjoying kz2 recently and after playing the beta for kz3 i can say that i will be picking this one up. the character weight has a good feel to it and my average life expectancy has increased compared to other fps games like cod and bc2. i may not get to shoot as many people, but i am also not constantly looking at a re-spawn screen.

I'm going to play the hell out of the beta and that should be enough for me. The SP for KZ2 was awful and I can't imagine KZ3 story being worse.

I liked Killzone 2. It had issues. But, I did enjoy the game.  
 
I will look into picking this one up, once some more reviews come out.

8.5 seems reasonable and I can understand the points behind it, but that writer needed to take a cold shower before writing his review. I can get that you dislike the story without the double modifiers before every adjective. Just say what you have to say, bud.

Yeah that's more or less what I was expecting. Killzone 2, I enjoyed, but I don't remember the story at all, I didn't think it was much other than "invade this planet", but whatever. The gameplay was kinda fun, it felt a bit different than other shooters, a little heavier maybe. But it had a cool look.  
 
So yeah it'd be worth playing for me if it still does enough to differentiate it's campaign from other games. Looks like it does.
