...is really easy and surprisingly accurate.

now if only you could export it from the fricking application and use the avatar you created for the rest of the xbox... (or am I missing something?)

Yeah I was surprised when I found that out. I thought that was the whole point. It's more of just a avatar photobooth the way it is. Free achievements though.

There's another app called Kinect Avatars that is "coming soon"... I think that's the one you will be able to export your avatar from... Guess the one we have right now is just a tech demo for the real deal later on...

I'm hoping developers can use these tools to add stuff in their games.

Yeah I figure its like a test or Beta for the real deal to be released at a later date. They probably still have to get it working properly with current Avatar clothing and hairstyles. My scanned Avatar looked like shit. Made my look Asian with a bowl cut when I'm white with relatively long hair. the only options at the moment seem to be bowl cut or ponytail. :)

I used it yesterday too, and it looked NOTHING like me. It did scan my Phillies shirt and distorted it really badly. Kind of a let down.

Strange. Cause I had the totally opposite experience from it. I was suprised on how much it looked like me and it got my shirt very accurate, even thou my t-shirt was dark blue and the logo wasn't that visible.

It scanned me very well. (It had no problem with glasses, facial hair, long hair on a guy.)

It didn't scan my wife very well - it looked nothing like her.

no chance they'll let people export their own clothes when they are selling them on the marketplace.

Same here.  Unlike some people i know i actually like the avatars but this makes me hate em.  Maybe if the avatar creator was BETTER it'd be easier to extrapolate one that looks more like you.

Mine looked way creepy! im bald, yet it put almost shoulderlength hair on the avatar, but worst of all it made the mouth look all sewn up looking.. Kind of like Abe from the Oddworld games..

I'm a white guy with a beard and long blonde hair. It constantly thought I was a black dude with a dark brown buzz cut. Looked super weird, inverse blackface.

The bobblehead worked awesome though, 100%. Even picked the exact hair model.

My Avatar basically ended up looking roughly like Disco Kid from the new Punchout!!... I don't look like that, I'm Greek. So yeah. Pretty hilarious result though.
