    Kinect Support

    Concept »

Kinect is a camera and depth sensor-based peripheral for the Xbox 360 that allows users to interact with and play games using their whole bodies, rather than using a standard controller.

Well that was quick: Kinect hacked

    Just saw this via slashdot:
A company called Adafruit put a bounty on providing open source drivers for the Kinect, and apparently this bounty has been won!
I can't wait to see the sort of stuff that comes out of this, I might actually end up buying one for my PC if something interesting comes out of it.
I'm sort of skeptical though considering the amount of free space that is required to effectively use one if it would translate well to the even shorter distance most people sit from their monitors. Hopefully nothing a bit of clever software can't fix :)

The screen on the left, is that their doing or is that something that's built into Kinect?

@ch13696: I wouldn't really know, but given the amount of time in which this was made I'd guess that this is pretty much straight what's coming out of the Kinect.
