But really, lets talk about how King Dedede is amazing

Posted by SecondPersonShooter (615 posts) -

Is he a duck or a penguin? Nobody really knows. When he speaks, he speaks with a booming voice filled with authority. When he jumps, he comes crashing down with such force that it actually creates new celestial bodies that promptly implode in on themselves as soon as they are created. His hammer is so powerful that it has it's own self-sustaining fuel source. I love you King Dedede

A lesser king would have stopped at "King Dede", but King Dedede is so powerful, two "De"s just wouldn't suffice. In this way, one could say that he helped popularize 3-De gaming.

For King Dedede, Hammer Time is all the time.

Yeaaaah, he's pretty great.

Although I have it on good authority that is he, indeed, a penguin. But he doesn't let himself be defined by that, and I respect him for it.

What I like is that in EVERY single Kirby game Dedede is a bad guy then when you beat him he's was possessed or he was trying to stop some other threat. Every time.

Dedede also has the pimpest coat.

WILL OF DE!

He is both the Unstoppable Force AND the Immovable Object!

It's not the only time, thought.

I don't know why Kirby is portrayed as a hero. He's just an anarchist out to destroy the government of Dream Land. I understand absolute monarchy is not the most ideal form, but in a land of Waddle Doos and stationary tree warlords, it's the one we got. If you want reform, go about it peacefully, stop inhaling Dream Land citizens and stealing their jobs.

@Nottle: I don't know what you're talking about. I'm drawing my memories from Kirby Superstar, and Dedede's a dick.

@Brodehouse: Kirby is also a dick. He's not trying to overthrow the government, he just wants some ALL the cake.

Kirby Dream Land 2 he is possessed by a shadow, Kirby Dream Land 3 he is possessed by the same Dark matter, in Kirby for the NES he was using the star rod to stop nightmare. Kirby 64 he was again possessed by some sort of shadow just like every other character that isn't Kirby in that game and then joins Kirby in stopping dark matter. In epic yarn he was possessed by yarn.

Even in Smash Bros. Brawl he was trying to stop the big threat. He helps out a lot of the other characters.

The first Kirby Dream Land game and superstar (which has a remake of Kirby Dream Land in it, Spring Breeze) is one of the few times he is actually an antagonist and thats just because Kirby is stealing his food.

Then they have foot races to see who can eat the most.

I feel like people grow to appreciate Dedede more as they grow older and the impact of Kirby's irresistible cuteness lessens.

Thus, my theory is that Dedede is in fact, future Kirby come back in time after inhaling one too many ducks/Waddle Dee's and is imposing a monarchy in order to prevent the post-apocalyptic future from which he hails.

If King Dedede doesn't make it into the new Smash Bros, I am boycotting Nintendo.

Who's with me?

@secondpersonshooter: Seems as good a reason as any.
