The King of the planet sharing the same name, King Vegeta is the father of Vegeta in Dragon Ball Z and is the ruler of the Saiyan race.

King Vegeta was one of the most powerful Saiyans on Planet Vegeta which was most likely why he was King in the first place. He is the only Saiyan seen to have brown hair rather than black. While King Vegeta and his son Prince Vegeta strongly resemble one another, King Vegeta is taller, has facial hair and as mentioned before has a different hair colour. King Vegeta wears Saiyan Armor with what must be a royal crest of some sort on the top torso. He also wears a cape and some sort of medalion around his neck.

King Vegeta has only appeared and been playable in one video game to date: Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3. He is playable in both his regular and Oozaru (giant ape) form.
