    In his first interview since the announcement of Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 Remix, Nomura commented on Kingdom Hearts II's absence from the collection saying that he thought it would be unusual if Kingdom Hearts II HD didn't happen (eventually). The full interview has yet to come out and be translated, but the link has new details about 1.5 Remix as well.
