Overview
Koji Igarashi is a Japanese developer who is best known for taking the Castlevania series from level-based platform games to the "Metroidvania" style of open-world gameplay. He also created the seminal Tokimeki Memorial series, which was a breakthrough for dating sims and social simulations in Japan. He is often credited as IGA in his games.
After over two decades at Konami, where Igarashi spent the majority of his career, he resigned, leaving his employment following his last day on March 15, 2014. His intent is to found a new independent studio where he will be able to work on games for his fans.
