I don't think Igarashi is involved. It's actually like... a western studio I think? But as bad as that sounds, they've been talking a VERY good game about it....

Yeah, the lead producer is was also the producer of Lords of Shadow. Which leads me to wonder what Igarashi is actually doing these days if Konami is content to keep Castlevania on the Lords of Shadow track.

Now I wanted to like Lords of Shadow, and I loved all of its ideas, it was only in the execution of these ideas that I felt it rarely got it right. That and it had some other wierd issues which I'm not gonna get into again because that always ends up becoming a way too longwinded rant. Anyhow, point is I'm ok with them doing a sequel and even interested in seeing if theyt can make it work better this time, but I completely expected the 3DS game to be standard, original universe Castlevania. I guess they were really serious about rebooting it huh..
From that info I'm interested though, not sure how polygonal graphics will end up working but it's been done well before so I'm hopeful. I always thought that the way they integrated old universe Castlevania characters and names into Lords of Shadow was really goofy, but the fact that they're bringing back Simon and Trevor (and the vampire killer) suprised me. I had figured that they had abandoned the whole idea of the Belmont family fighting Dracula what with how LoS ended.
Haven't had that much interest in Konami's games as of late but the E3 stuff they do is just amazingly summed up as being freaking Japan (which isn't a bad thing) so expecting this year to be as highly unpredictable as the last few years.

Well, as a non-native English speaker myself, I often find it hard to describe things with spoken words as well. It's easier if I write it down first.
If he had been a Ubisoft rep he'd probably had described her as being "A visually appealing protagonist that we feel will resonate with our core target demographic"
@DarkbeatDK: That's true, I have trouble explaining things as well, though I wasn't really criticizing his ability of English but rather his way he presents it. That interview despite is lack of English was better because he was just excited about his product and just answered the questions, the way he answers doesn't really matter. That '10 E3 conference was probably written by the company's people with the worst sense of humor and writing ability. But what I find strange is that these people, like Mr Tak and Mr Caffeine for example are so terrible in presenting while it's pretty much their job to present their company's product well.
Still no sign of a conference on their e3 website. Can't believe I woke up an hour and a half earlier than usual just to see this lol :) e3 craze I guess.
