Kvatch is a city in Cyrodiil and is the first to be attacked by an Oblivion Gate

Kvatch is a city on top of a mountain in the Gold Coast, between Anvil and Skingrad. In The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, the player will find out that it has been destroyed by an Oblivion Gate and daedric creatures. The Oblivion gate will be the first gate the player will have to close in the main quest. In the ruins, the castle and the chapel are the only buildings remaining. Kvatch had been destroyed before by the Camoran Usurper, with an army of daedra and undead who tried to invade Cyrodiil. Throughout the game Kvatch will remain a ruin and will never be fixed, though some mods have been made that rebuild Kvatch for the PC.
