L.A Noire Review
One of rockstars highly anticipated games ever. L.A Noire is a story following a young man named Cole Phelps on
His journey throughout the corrupted streets of + L.A but also uncovering the truth about the
Real corruption that couldn't be found on the crime scenes.
The city itself boats a flourish of colours, commotion, hustle and bustle of daily city life. You could
Literally drive around the city for long periods of time and get lost in the beauty of the city.
One thing I would like to note that driving to and from destinations, mainly crime scenes does take a fair
Big amount of time, but to save the day the developers made sure you can have your partner to drive instead.
The characters are all well developed, Cole Phelps who at first seems a pretty straight forward guy seems
Almost a 'too good to be true' protagonist. The one on one interviews are tricky and not really for an
Average gamer, of course there are plenty of game walkthroughs, but if you want to spoil the game
For yourself that’s your choice.
Is the game repeative? Yes, It does have the tendency to bring you into a slow process of repetition, but
As the story brings you to a climax you have an urge to see it through all the way. I completed in the game
In about 4 days, this is with school and other social activities in between. Yes it is a very long story but
The plot and the detail in this game are not to be missed.
There is little customisation in this game, you can only alter the suits that Phelps wears and not much else.
It's a linear story, so after you have completed the game. That's that. L.A Noire is not attempting to be Grand Theft Auto
It is attempting to be a detective thriller game and it's doing perfectly well on that basis.
The contrast between Heavy Rain and L.A Noire is clear, but L.A Noire is way beyond Heavy Rain and is totally different,
So don't be put off, I own Heavy Rain + L.A Noire and the games are different in their unique ways.
The giant flaw of the game is of course the lack of replay value. Which perhaps it's best off renting it off a friend
Or paying for it second hand.
If you enjoyed games such as Heavy Rain or any game that requires more than button mashing and trigger pulling L.A Noire
Is for you, the story is rich in its content, the graphics are superb, it’s a story you indulge in from beginning to end.
