Andriasang is reporting that Ace Attorney 5 was announced in the newest famitsu and that phoenix will have a new partner(not maya)

The bigger news is that layton vs Ace Attorney is coming to japan on November 29th. A puzzle was relased in the famitsu as well and when solved revealed the date.

Now one has to wonder if capcom is going to pull a Miles Edgeworth 2 and not bring them over. Or be awesome and localize them. Capcom is not really popular in the fan support so localizing it would do wonders. Also i believe level 5 is handling devolpment of LVAA so there is a better chance for a US release.

Edit: Also reproteed it takes place one year after Apollo justice, which is awesome since i like the characters. also will use 3d models which is a shame becasue their sprite animations are great as well.

Ace Attorney 5 is set one year after the events of Ace Attorney 4 and sees Phoenix Wright return to being a lawyer. The game's first chapter involves an explosion at the courthouse. The charged is a high school girl named Shinobu. She's very week and can go into spasms at any moment. In the courtroom, Wright will face off against Winston Payne's brother.

Returning to Phoenix? Nice, I should really get on that AA 4 though I guess.

Ah, seems we posted our threads at the same time. Though I guess it's fine since mine's in the Gyakuten Saiban 5 page and yours is on the Layton vs. Ace Attorney page.

I have confidence that Layton vs. AA will be localized to North America, but I'm not that confident about Ace Attorney 5, sadly...

But will it restore Phoenix after he was pretty much an asswipe in AA4?

Phoenix in general looks freaking crazy. Holy crap. And his partner's trying her best to imitate Maya.

a lot of people are saying the new girl is trucy but there is no way she looks like that after one year. i think it might be pearl

Also, I'm loving the 3D models and Wright's classic facial expressions. Anyone who hasn't seen the scans yet should seek them out as they're pretty easy to find and pretty awesome.

Apollo Justice was my least favourite in the series. I was about to say it felt like a bit of a cop out going straight back to phoenix after AJ was less popular, but then I saw Phoenix's swag new suit and hair. Can't wait!

So they're just ditching Apollo like that huh. That's kind of too bad, he never really got a chance to develop into his own.

And what are they doing with Phoenix? I dig the new suit and more seasoned expression, but then the screenshots show him doing his old goofball face. Seems like a weird backtread on cool-as-ice hobo phoenix from AA4.
