His family owns and works in their own pharmacy which is made up of his dad, mom, and brother. Lee was also a history professor at the University of Georgia before being convicted for a crime that is revealed in the first episode. Near the start of the zombie outbreak, Lee is seen being transported by a cop to a prison. After a sudden car crash the game transitions into the outbreak.
During The Outbreak
Episode 1: A New Day
For the most part the first episode revolves around a group of characters as they start to come to the realization that the walking dead are among them. It's up to the player to decide how Lee will interact with the people around him. During the first episode Lee will visit famous areas from the comic book such as Hershel's Farm. The main struggle of the story being survival and making tough choices that define people's morality. Along the way, Lee's past and family are a major factor in the game. His relationship with characters such as Clementine are essential to the story as well.
Lee is a good guy for the most part. He doesn't have any radical character traits as the case with most video game protagonists. This is especially true as most choices that Lee makes will be decided upon by the player. That doesn't mean that Lee is a bland character in the slightest. His character is defined by the people that he interacts with such as Clementine. Their relationship is key to showing a parent/child relationship as well as showing how protective Lee can be. Lee's strongest trait is being protective of the group and having leadership skills that have yet to be proven. Lee is also protective of his conviction and the facts around it. It is up to the player to decide whether to be truthful about his past or to be protective of it.
