Story

In his early years Lee Sin's goal was to become a summoner. Lee Sin's will, dedication, and talent far surpassed that of any other students under High Councilor Reginald Ashram. He spent all his free time studying the nuances of summoning in hopes of completing his studies early. He was on the path to becoming one of the leagues greatest summoners, but one mistake changed everything. Lee Sin grew impatient at the pace set for the rest of the students and decided to attempt to summon a beast from the Plague Jungles on his on. Instead, he summoned a young boy, but not in one piece. He had time for a brief glimpse into what was once the boy's face before the jumbled human mass fell lifeless. Investigations into the incident uncovered that the boy's entire village had been destroyed as a result of feedback from the ritual, but this was overlooked given his talents. However, Lee Sin left to Shojin Monastery for eternal repentance. Lee Sin became a monk and swore to never practice magic again. When Noxus occupied Ionia, Lee Sin set himself ablaze in protest. He remained alive for weeks and his actions spurred a League match. Ionia took victory and Lee Sin was doused, but his eyes had been completely burned out. Hailed as a savior, Lee Sin was invigorated to continue his atonement by joining the League of Legends.
