Nope. Steam and Xbox Live are two entirely separate systems that generally do not interact.

It's a bummer that more games don't actually do this.

Cross platform play is not enabled, and for good reason. PC players have an advantage over console gamers because of mouse/keyboard. It's better this way.

Shadowrun allowed cross-platform multiplayer between pc and 360.  I haven't played the game so I don't know how well that experiment worked out

This isn't really facepalm worthy. There have been several games with cross platform play between PC & 360, it is entirely possible that Left 4 Dead 2 could have it. Unfortunately for the OP, it doesn't.

Was just wondering since i know some games have cross platform but my 360 is crapping out so had to buy all the games for PC or PS3 and all my friends are on xbox. I think Left 4 dead has it but not left 4 dead 2. I have both of them and in the first one you can add people from 360 cause i added some friends on steam that are on 360 and they were able to play and talk with me.

Ugh, another of of these. I can aim on 360 as good as any PC player can aim on there mouse, it's a matter of preference. PC gamers can't tell console gamers that they like chocolate ice cream better than vanilla, no matter how good the PC community thinks it tastes.

With the exception of Shadow Run (and probably something else I'm forgetting) cross-platform play is non-existent. Apprantly (according to Shadow Run interviews I've watched) developers have to jump though a lot of hoops and invest a lot of resources to get cross-platform play to work. So don't look forward to this feature in any games in the near future.

Well to be fair, there haven't been any XBL games that interact with Steam specifically right? As I understand it, it has only been with GFWL supported PC games. Shadow Run and I think Halo 2 are the only ones I can think of. Maybe not Halo 2. I can't remember.

@JJWeatherman: It's still not exactly a facepalm moment. It's totally possible to have cross platform gaming between PC and 360. It's not a dumb question at all.

@EpicSteve: Which is too bad, as Shadowrun did it so well. You could never tell who was playing on PC versus on a 360.
