Frying pans?
Being set in the South?
Daytime campaigns?
This video kind gave it away for me.
Valve would NEVER release a game of this shoddy quality.
This is a masterful troll.

...where the hell is my Episode 3?!
I get that a whole bunch of people liked Left 4 Dead. I loved it for the first month or so. But for them to make this sequel while Episode 3 has still yet to be released sucks bad.

It's the cover of the next PC Gamer and there's hands-on articles on various sites... And they did far more than a few survivor skins. And I think you're trolling, not valve. Maybe this won't end up being Left 4 Dead 2 but something different (expansion? DLC?) but it's happening... And it doesn't look "shitty" by far. Just too premature and similar to the first to be a sequel. I'd prefer an expansion that also adds some of the updates to the current content than a new $50 title that splits the map makers community in half, and game community in half... Maybe it will be. I mean, they even have details like incidienary ammo not working on pyro-suit zombies from the gameplay video. All the new content and mechanics is too much for a simple joke, if NOTHING is to be used in an actual release.

When you see that I am right, Alexander, I expect a apology!
From a Steam forum post;
This is all one vast and clever marketing scheme put in place by Valve to infuriate it's fans before they pull out something huge.
Everything about this is ridiculous. The title of the game itself, Left 4 Dead 2, is totally ridiculous. The art style is ridiculous. The setting is ridiculous.
This sudden surge of unveilings about the new game is not a coincidence. Everything from the articles to the magazine covers has been carefully designed and put in place by Valve to trick it's fanbase.
Expect the unexpected these next few coming months.
" No I agree with Gizmo, this is total bollocks. SDK isn't out properly, games still in its first year. "
" You are dumb. Your only source is a fellow gamers forum post. You really think Microsoft would let this happen? And you really think they would be giving it this much press if it was a joke...you my friend, are in denial. "
It is far too soon for Left 4 Dead 2. They haven't even given the original a proper chance. This could've easily been released as an expansion pack or something.
Lol why do you think this is fake? If it is how did it get on the front cover of PC gamer an interview on Rock Paper Shotgun and direct feed footage on IGN

There are 2 things that could happen.
You know, you could just not buy the game when it comes out.
I didn't see the hype over the first one either. Got boring pretty quick.
" @EpicSteve: We are pissed because this is coming out LESS THAN A YEAR after the first! We got ONE update for L4Dand Valve is probably going to make us pay ANOTHER FIFTY DOLLARS for 5 new campaigns instead of just updating the first L4D! "
If this is indeed true, we need to speak with our money! No buying until Steam has another huge sale on L4D like they did for the original...damn that seemed to happen so recently, too.
I honestly wouldn't be surprised if they were trolling us (just because there's so many things wrong with that teaser)... but I don't think they'd waste Microsoft's time and everyone at the press conferences time with something that's fake. They even left out that Games on Demand announcement in favor of a "troll attempt."
If anything they'll announce that it's actually an expansion, instead of a full blown 50-$60 sequel.
" @SoulEdgeSlayer: 8 months wasn't something I would call Recent. "
shitty quality? Left 4 dead is not exactly a power house in graphics, or physics so i have no idea what you mean unless you mean reliability or something which you cant comment on since you've not seen it, Medium quality medium every thing, quarky lil games like this is what valve are known for.
"@RsistncE said:Let's see how this turns out, but I bet I am right." I WISH you were right. I really do. "

I dunno. It does seem kind of soon for a sequel, but to be honest all they have to do is make more campaigns, more zombies, couple different characters and throw in some new weapons for good measure. I doubt it'd take them very long to make new stuff for a sequel with a game like L4D. It's zombies, you shoot them. Not much else going on. So yea, I think this could be real. Is it right to be releasing a sequel so fast after the first one? No I don't think so, especially not when so many people are clamoring for Episode 3.
Another Orange Box would be a good solution to all of this. Half Life Episode 3, Portal 2, this game (an expansion of sorts) and throw in CS: Source and Day of Defeat. That would be awesome. I hope that is the solution but I still don't like this game coming out this quickly nonetheless.
Since this looks like legit content this is my guess.
This is actually DLC content and Valve just lied about it to the publications, developers. PC Gamer could be in on it because they've pulled over elaborate hoaxes on people like this, I think there was even a Half-Life 2 one they were in one.
So yeah my guess is it's DLC that they're making out to be a full game and they will reveal Half Life Ep. 3 later on in the show.
Do people seriously believe this is fake? You guys are crazy...
I admit I was really taken a back when I saw the trailer for it because it is REALLY soon but that gameplay doesn't look bad at all. And considering I was done with Left 4 Dead about two weeks after it came out, I could go for some more.
I really do hope that this is an elaborate prank by Valve and is secretly just more campaigns for the original game. I really don't want to pay $60 for more of the same only a year after the original.
