    Playing alone?

So Valve is having that Halloween sale and, after plowing through the first season of The Walking Dead this weekend, I've been hankering some zombie slaughter and, as the Left 4 Dead pack is only 10 bucks, I'm thinking about buying. HOWEVER...none of my friends play PC games and I tend not to play co-op unless I'm acquainted with the people I'm playing with in real life. Is L4D worth it playing single player and PVP, or should I save my $10?

single player works fine, the AI buddies have their own banter and whatnot, and you'll get to move through the campaigns at your own pace. And you can always just play with random dudes in matchmaking.

Yeah the AI in L4D is great (sometimes better than real people :D). If you get L4D2 you have to play scavenge, I love me some scavenge. Although I would say sometimes people can get kick heavy if things aren't going well.

I've played it all alone and with people. Playing alone definitely feels more dangerous, and. . . well, lonely, which fits the zombie survival atmosphere.

I'd say save yourself some money and just get L4D2 because Valve has ported over almost all levels from that first game into the second with all of the improvements of the sequel making L4D obsolete. Makes me happy I skipped the first one

And yeah playing alone works fine, I can play with you if you want since I got the urge to play it recently

Oh, they have ported over the campaigns to L4D2? Huh. Guess I'll save myself some money, then.

    Thanks guys.
