Probably. Everyone I know hates L4D2 so I'm sure they'll want to try and redeem themselves.

Everyone you know is insane.

It definitely deserves anoher sequel but I'd like to have two of each survivor party killed off so that the four remaining survivors become the new team. Either that or have an all new cast and set it in England, that would be badass.

I think they will, but it won't be released on it's own, rather in what ever coloured box that Valve decides to make next.

They just announced a bunch of DLC for L4D2 so I think it may be a while.

will Valve make another 1 Line blog entry ?
who knows?
oh yea... no L4D3

I can certainly see the grounds for making one. I mean, it's a successful franchise that bring them a lot of money, and they are good games too (if you play with friends at least). I don't see them making one anytime soon though since, as stated above, they just announced a bunch of DLC for it plus that the second game got a lot of flack for being released so shortly after the first game was released. It would be a bad move - I think - from them though I'm sure that just like people did with the second game, they would hate on it and even say they'd boycott it but eventually wind up buying it and loving it.

Yeah they said they still plan on releasing DLC for the current games so probably not for a while.

For Christ's sakes I hope not.

The only reason Left 4 Dead worked was because the cast was colourful and had distinct personalities. That and it had the novelty of being new while L4D2 was a rehash with terrible characters and bland maps.

So unless they bring back Zoey, Bill, Francis, and Louis for Part 3 (or at least actually try making good characters) they should leave the L4D franchise dead and buried.

I hope they make another one... I love the L4D series to death, and I would love more of it.

However, I'd like to see them break out of the formula a bit, and go for a more drawn out experience with more player development and story. There's so much RPG potential in zombie survival... if only a little of that were added to the mix, it could be awesome.

Left 4 dead 2 was indeed awesome but if they stop the franchise for a while then they can finally make Half Life 2: Episode 3

This, though not as extreme.

I kind of wish people could make one thread about any non-half life product by valve that didn't result in people complaining about Episode 3. I know everyone wants it, but still, it's getting rather dull.

maybe... but they have problems counting to 3 so......

#19 Posted by TheMustacheHero (6654 posts) - 2 years, 9 months ago

This is what should happen in L4D3.

They make Francis die instead of Bill, then in the third one Nick (The only good character from the second one) joins in and takes Francis' place. They escape to England and everything's dandy!

I'm going to shoot Gabe Newell if Valve announces L4D3 before Half-Life 3.

#26 Posted by bwfclr10 (116 posts) - 2 years, 8 months ago

definitely. they should make one with either the first eight characters or add new ones

We cannot adopt the philosophies of other developers/publishers and have them apply to Valve. Valve works in a different manner than most other companies. Will there be a L4D3 somewhere down the line? Absolutely. But since L4D2 has a pretty polished formula, I bet they're sticking with that for a few years instead of pooping out another sequel like certain publishers do.

Im guessing next November, or early 2012.

The only reason L4D2 got made is because L4D was in many ways somewhat of a failure.

You can tell Valve finds the current game acceptable due to continued support, I don't think they will make a new one for a very very very long time.

Rofl the TC is hilarious with all of these one line blogs he created on the forums. Also, I agree that there won't be a new L4D because Valve said so a while ago and they are too busy with releasing new DLC for the games.

They better.... it should be set in Manhattan / New York / New England / Alaska .... it ought to have an unlockable Portal mode.... and finally a "one of you is infected" mode.
