Should I buy this game 2 years later?
The fall of 2007 was chock full of games, and Left 4 Dead was one that I missed out on. I see it on Major Nelson's top Xbox live activity list every week, so I know the community is still active. The news of the new campaign, Crash Course, has gotten my attention, as one of the few complaints against this game was the shortage of content. I'm pretty sure I can pick this up used for $25 on 360, but my question is, should I? I know the sequel is coming out soon, but that's not a huge concern. Thanks for the input in advance.
" Not sure about on the 360 but I think most of the current Left 4 Dead players will be moving to Left 4 Dead 2 when it comes out. "Can anybody confirm that plz ?
2007 was the years of the Orange Box. If your going to get any Valve game your better of getting the PC version.
L4D2 would be a better purchase. It's basically L4D1 with more content and balancing fixes, plus a fresh community playing the game for the first time instead of a bunch of exploiters and well-practiced pub-stompers. Despite Valve's assurances, L4D2 will be superior to L4D1 and will effectively replace it.
Really?! I've been a dedicated PC gamer (especially when it comes to FPSes) for two decades, but I found the PC multiplayer experience to be attrocious compared to the 360. The controls didn't feel right or as responsive and the people I randomly encountered were far bigger cockfaces than the ones on 360 chat (I know, kind of shocking)." If you could choose between versions, the PC is much more fun (and probably worth it), I probably wouldn't bother on the 360 since you've got a sequel coming so soon. "
However, it definitely would be pointless to buy L4D right now since it's barely even a year old and L4D2 is due out in six weeks.

" Still a year is a pretty long time in game releases. "
For Madden or Guitar Hero, maybe . . .
if you are a pc gamer, pick l4d up for 25 bucks on steam. A lot of people will play it. Just like CS and CS:S, people play both games.
I think steam is still having a L4d and l4d2 bundle on steam. I would recommend that

"Left 4 Dead came out during the fall of 2008, not 2007. I missed out on Left 4 Dead as well and I'm just going to buy Left 4 Dead 2 on black friday at Best Buy for $35.
