    Left 4 Dead

Game » consists of 14 releases. Released Nov 18, 2008

Left 4 Dead puts players in the role of one of four survivors during a zombie apocalypse. Survivors will depend on co-operation to get from one safe house to another, while facing hordes of "Infected", four of which can be controlled by human players in certain game modes.

Should I buy this game 2 years later?

The fall of 2007 was chock full of games, and Left 4 Dead was one that I missed out on.  I see it on Major Nelson's top Xbox live activity list every week, so I know the community is still active. The news of the new campaign, Crash Course, has gotten my attention, as one of the few complaints against this game was the shortage of content. I'm pretty sure I can pick this up used for $25 on 360, but my question is, should I? I know the sequel is coming out soon, but that's not a huge concern.  Thanks for the input in advance.

Not sure about on the 360 but I think most of the current Left 4 Dead players will be moving to Left 4 Dead 2 when it comes out. So i would say no.  It is a fun game but you really need to play with other people.

Dude, L4D came out last year. It is only a year old. That is why people are up in arms about L4D2.

If you could choose between versions, the PC is much more fun (and probably worth it), I probably wouldn't bother on the 360 since you've got a sequel coming so soon.

Well, considering the divide in the community caused by L4D2, I would guess a significant number of ppl will not make the switch.

2007 was the years of the Orange Box. If your going to get any Valve game your better of getting the PC version.

Why not just wait for L4D2? Play other games until then. It will most likely be just a kind of upgraded version of L4D.

L4D2 would be a better purchase.  It's basically L4D1 with more content and balancing fixes, plus a fresh community playing the game for the first time instead of a bunch of exploiters and well-practiced pub-stompers.  Despite Valve's assurances, L4D2 will be superior to L4D1 and will effectively replace it.

Really?! I've been a dedicated PC gamer (especially when it comes to FPSes) for two decades, but I found the PC multiplayer experience to be attrocious compared to the 360. The controls didn't feel right or as responsive and the people I randomly encountered were far bigger cockfaces than the ones on 360 chat (I know, kind of shocking).

However, it definitely would be pointless to buy L4D right now since it's barely even a year old and L4D2 is due out in six weeks.

if you are a pc gamer, pick l4d up for 25 bucks on steam. A lot of people will play it. Just like CS and CS:S, people play both games.

The main problem with the PC version of left for dead is hosts can kick you mid game for doing better than them. As I understand it, only your own teammates can kick mid match in the xbox version

Left 4 Dead came out during the fall of 2008, not 2007. I missed out on Left 4 Dead as well and I'm just going to buy Left 4 Dead 2 on black friday at Best Buy for $35.
