TAAAANK!
I love this game.
I got the demo for this game back in october, and played it pretty much all the time. The fact that there was only 2 parts of 1 level to play and only the campaign, did not decrease my enjoyment at all, and when I ran out of demo, it wasn't until christmas I got the full game, due to a lack of money income on my part.
Now I have the game, and I enjoy it even more than I did when I had the demo. However, I find a lack of my friends play the campaign, which I prefer to the versus mode. And even then, I usually end up with a bunch of retards on my team, who wouldn't notice someone in trouble if it was THEMSELVES.
But these are just minor issues with the game, just like a lack of levels is.
Sure there aren't many levels, but the AI Director makes up for it, as it makes it so you're not doing the same thing twice.
Maybe you'll get a tank in your face when you enter a room, or maybe just a horde. You don't know which and that's the fun of it all. And it's even better when you're with your friends and having a laugh.
I haven't tried the xBox version, so I don't know if this point is enhanced by actually having the friends with you or not, but it's fun.
However, there are a few glitches that valve should focus up on, which is zombies ending up half way into the floor or a wall, or maybe the tank getting stuck up on a ledge cause it's too thick to climb down a ladder (Thick as-in mentally, not physically).
The urgency and thrill of the tank is defeted when it's stuck running back and forwards above you.
Also, a shotgun to the face will kill a witch, but a well placed bullet to the brain from a high powered sniper rifle seems to just make the bitch stumble and then get pissed at you.
I also don't see how a tank smacking you will send you flying, and not incapitate you, but some girl who's let her fingernails grow out can incapitate you with a mere scratch.
However, these are just minute things, and the gameplay is still fast paced and fun each time I play.
The single player campaign though seems a bit lacking. The AI is either going to be particularly good or particularly dense.
At one point I was clambering along a fence while they tottered along on the ground, when a hunter leapt me, and those daft buggers didn't even move!
So I was killed and had to start again.
It's either that, or you sit back and let the AI do all the work and you preserve your ammo for the Tank.
But I do love this game, and I will continue to love it, despite it having a few problems.
