Game of the Year.
I have played most of the big dogs this year, and while all of them were good, they were all also something most of us have played before; in other words, they were sequels. Gears 2 I thought was fantastic, but after beating the campaign and completing the Horde mode I sort of lost interest. I find this very ironic because Left 4 Dead has been said to lack content, but Gears 2 doesn't, and some how I got easily bored with Gears and not Left 4 Dead. It does come short in the content category, but don't let that stop you from buying this game. It has more re-playability than any game in 2008. It's simple and just flat out intense and fun. It's so simple that my girlfriend who has never held an xbox controller, is better than many people I play with online. If you like shooting games, zombies, and big scary bosses, this is your game. This is an extremely underestimated game. I'm very surprised it hasn't been more of a hit, I'm actually very surprised. There is also DLC coming, so if the content is really getting to you, then you won't have anything to complain about after that's released. It's overall a very fun game, it's odd that someone hadn't made it before. Perhaps my favorite part is that it has something MOST online games don't have anymore, TEAMWORK. You have to, have to, work as a team. There is no getting around it. Most shooting games allow players to run aimlessly shooting the enemy and perhaps winning the game for their entire team, but this doesn't. You have to be in contact with your team, and help each other out, because one or even two players alone can easily lose a game.
