More maps and weapons could elevate this game

Left 4 Dead may not have any breakthroughs, but what it does have are all done right.  Choose from one of four characters who are survivors of what appears to be the beginning of a zombie outbreak.  There are only four maps to choose from as of the writing of this review, but they are all pretty much the same in general layout.  Basically you get a gun, and shoot zombies in the face until you can get rescued.  This may not sound like such a spectacular concept, but it is just so satisfying to shoot a zombies head off, or lighting hordes of zombies on fire.  One of the main focuses is that of working as a team.  There are four survivors at the off start of the game, and they must work together to get though each story.  the survivors can be either other people online, or computer controlled characters.  healing teammates and keeping them alive is actually beneficial.  playing on your own is about impossible thanks to the special zombies that can trap players, making them rely on others to save them.  All of this works very well, however, NPCs can often make stupid decisions and get in the way.  The fact that there are only four maps makes this game get a little old quickly.  it is fun to play through the levels several times, but some new maps would be a welcomed addition.  the standard weapons are also available, such as shotguns or assault rifles, which are very satisfying weapons with which to mutilate zombies.  Perhaps adding a few extra weapons would add to the experience also. I know that I would personally like to take an axe, or baseball bat to a zombie's face (not to mention a chainsaw), or perhaps using rediculously obsurd weapon as seen in Dead Rising.  In ending, Left 4 Dead won't dissappint, but it will leave you thinking that they just could have done more.

Left 4 Dead: BOOM! Headshot! 0

Short and to the Point Left 4 Dead By: mrhankey To be honest, I recently have found it hard to get very excited over a game. Seriously, Fallout 3 was, well, meh. Spore, became frustrating towards the end. S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky I haven’t touched since I bought it a month ago. Then Crysis Warhead, well I beat it and that’s that. So what game caused me to ignore my schoolwork and even my girlfriend at times, you guessed, the Zombie-Apocalypse survival game: Left 4 Dead. The Good: -AI Director,...
