Level-5 Inc. is a studio that focuses on bringing new twists to standard RPG gameplay.
Founded in 1998 by Akihiro Hino, Level-5 Inc. is a independent developer that employs many people from the now closed Riverhillsoft Studios. Level-5 is located in Fukuoka, Japan and the studio is known for its creative approach to the role-playing genre. The studio has a close relationship with Sony and Square-Enix, however with the popularity of Professor Layton they are starting to pursue more independent efforts like Inazuma Eleven, Ni no Kuni: The Another World, and Cardboard Senki. In the West, the company is most known for the Dark Cloud series, Rogue Galaxy, Dragon Quest VIII, and more recently, the Professor Layton series.
