Nobody probably wants to talk about this but...
SHould Link have in the next Zelda game?
I reckon he should stay silent, I think they do a decent job of conveying his emotions through his facial expressions and stuff. The thing is if they do voice acting and its like slow rpg like back and forth dialogue then its boring to listen to.
If however they cut camera angles and pace it like GTA or soemthing (I know they wont) then itll be more exciting. THink about it, Two characters standing, and ones talking, then the other, then back again., its boring. They need some drama, they need some guy threatening Link and Link cuts in and tells him to watch himself or soemthing Unless they have a seriosuly deep plot or story to tell then I dont really think that itll really help the game taht much.
But really I dont mind playing the same Zelda formula over again, so long as they put a good story into it. IM saying that now but I havent played one in a long time so,......
Link
Character » appears in 77 games
Link is the iconic protagonist of The Legend of Zelda franchise.
Link's voice???
It would just be weird hearing Link,it wouldn't feel right.I imagine Link sounds like a black man.lol
Despite what people say, the Zelda series is not one that lacks in story. The lack of voice is one the charms of the game, further encapsulating the audience into this world.
It's a little-known fact that the Zelda team has been in talks to get a voice for Link for a while now, and they've finally managed to sign somebody.
I think you're all gonna be really pleased:
I don't think Link should be given a voice.
I think everyone else should, but maintaining Link's silence just seems pivotal to his character.
If you want to see what Link with a voice is, go watch the Legend of Zelda cartoon from the 80s.
I think they should give link the voice from the philips CD-i Zelda.

I don't think Link should talk, but the rest of the characters in the game should have full voice acting. I mean... Fable got it right, it should be like that.
If he talks, it should be in a fictional language like Shadow of the Colossus with subtitles at the bottom.
"I don't think Link should talk, but the rest of the characters in the game should have full voice acting. I mean... Fable got it right, it should be like that.I have to second that. Fable did it well without making things feel weird with the character you were playing with.

Agreed
It'd be best to keep him as a silent protagonist. Silent characters are usually more likeable then ones that talk.
If they add voices to the series I pray to the gods that they keep the voices in Japanese. The man who did Link's voice in Twilight Princess was great and I bet he could do a spoken role perfectly for Link.
I don't think there's any way you could properly do his voice in English without pissing someone off.
Keep him quiet, cause that's what works.
I don't want to think about what his voice might sound like because it's too scary. =S
"He should never talk. Ever. It's nintendo tradition. Plus, the Zelda games really need to have a more atmospheric feel to them, like metroid (atleast in my opinion) and part of that is feeliing like YOU are the character. You bring up a good point, but I still think that Link should talk a little. He probably has a beautiful voice, yet has been repressed all these years by Shiggy and the gang.

"I don't think Link should ever be given a voice.Guan Yu? You crazy, sun!
If, in the event, that Nintendo leans that way, then they should use Crispin Freeman as voice actor.
