DIY game making and the Little Big Planet community

I picked this title up and immediately noticed the same unresponsive physics, but this is minor compared to how much fun Little big planet can be. This is a deeply immersive game, and essential for someone technically inexperienced who is itching to design and play their own game. It can be a challenge to find the best player-designed levels but creative text searches are a great way to discover those hidden gems (good designers usually provide tags for other interesting levels too). LBP2's community ratings system sometimes provides interesting levels but it's really a mixed bag, especially considering there are over a million player generated levels to explore. The most important thing is that many of the player created levels take interesting approaches using the tools that LBP2 provides. It took a lot of time to figure out how to use the poppit to design levels and there are still major limitations-- but its a warp-speed tool compared to using highly technical game development software. So far I have played about 15 levels in the single player story and I'm very impressed. Unfortunately the music is pretty annoying. I still dig out the James Pants and Battles tracks from LBP1, there are LOTS of great tracks from the first game! I'm looking forward to having the ability to fix sackboy's jumping physics and I can't wait to see what Media Molecule comes up with next.

Positioning a 2D- platformer as one of its major games of 2008 was a bold move for the electronics giant, but as more and more media was released for the g...

      The Art of Sacks-Appeal 0

This game makes me want to be British.  Unapologetically, I lay down arms and embrace Stephen Fry's sweet, sweet smooth as water voice.  This, is fortunately a good thing, because just like the first game, you'll be hearing A LOT of the guy, especially if you choose to wade your way through Create mode (more on that later).     In Soviet Russia, 3-D watches you!       It seems most people I've talked to about LittleBigPlanet 2 always raise the same question: "Is the game enough to warr...
