Annoucement trailer with gameplay (United Front Games is the dev)

It's being developed by United Front Games -- the same people behind Modnation Racers.

As someone who spent 300ish hours playing Modnation Racers, you can bet that I'm pretty excited. From the gameplay that's shown, it looks to be somewhat similar to MNR racing mechanic wise. Hopefully, United Front has learned a lot of lessons from MNR. The netcode and kart handing should be a priority. I thought the kart handling in MNR was great and while it took some getting used to, it rewarded skill. But it was a sore point for many who for many who tried it, didn't master it in an hour and later gave up. UFG needs to do something about that.

I don't understand how this is different from Mod Nation Racers.

I still play Modnation to this day, best kart reader of all time in my opinion. I hope there is a Vita version.

Isn't this just Modnation Racers but with a more popular name slapped on it?

@NekuSakuraba I don't go on the forums but whenever I pop it in and play I always find a full or close to full game online.

I agree. I am a Kart racing fiend and I have not enjoyed any as much as Modnation Racers. It wasn't perfect, but it is an outstanding game.

@Cloudenvy I bet they'll add more LPB centric stuff like grappling as the trailer showed. Also I wouldn't be suprised if they pull all the costumes from LPB 1 and 2 into this game.

@msavo:From the trailer it looked like there were even a few 2D sections and some sort of battle/twisted metal style arenas also in some parts, I never played modnation racers so I don't know if they were in the first.

I wish a game with this sort of creativity would come out on the Xbox, nothing against the PS3 just that my friends are all 360 gamers so I wouldn't really be able to share levels with anyone if I spent time creating them.

What you just said will be probably the hardest perception for this game to over come, true or not. Judging from the trailer, the racing mechanics seem similar to MNR. But it is just a trailer.

But there are things shown in that trailer that MNR never had, like the battle mode among other things. I would not be so quick to consider MNR and LBPK to be the exact same game simply because they both revolve around the create and share concept. Understandable, though.
