Edit: I haven't played LIMBO yet so I don't really know if anything in here is a spoiler or not, doesn't seem to be.

    Or LittleBigLimbo?
    LittleLimboPlanet?
    Regardless, nicely done bra2008.

LittleBigPlanet continues to be absolutely unbelievable. I know people have moved on, but honestly, everytime I return there's something incredible there.

I just cannot wait until LittleBigPlanet 2.

    I'm a weird mix of:
    - excited about the possibilities
    - intimidated by the expanded features
    - worried about the gameplay

I fucking love LBP, I should really take the time to get to know the tools and create something cool like this in the new one.

What i find most impressive is that they were able to create this so quickly.

@ProfessorEss:  I kinda don't understand why people get intimidated by the Creator mode. It's almost like people expect it to be easy to make amazing levels. I've never understood that expectation. Making stuff is tough -- if you put in the time you'll get better results. LBP is intuitive and that's what has always mattered.

I look forward to the inevitable review criticisms of "You have to put in a week's worth of week to get something decent out of it". Well, yeah. What would people prefer? You just push "Make amazing level" button and it's all done for you?

Not in WarioWare DIY. That game's creation tools are a fucking miracle. A basic programming language made in a way that every idiot can use it to create something good.
Of course the more complicated and elaborate levels have some heavy programming behind them - heck I myself spend 6+ hours making a basic tetris microgame - but creating something personal and amazing doesn't NEED difficult tools or a difficult process.

That is why I sincerely hope that LBP2's creation tools are at least half as good as WarioWare DIY's. If they manage to create this same sense of logic, accessability and openness, it will be an epic winner.

@Meowayne: Right. That's totally fair enough, and I see your point. But making micro-games isn't on the same scale as creating complete levels; no matter how complex? I often feel that with LBP, people expect to be able to create levels such as the Limbo one embedded above over an afternoon.

I didn't mean to say that LittleBigPlanet is hard, just that it takes times. Which is not an unreasonable expectation is it?

To be fair the scope of Wario Ware is infinitely smaller than the scope of LBP

It is in terms of difficulty, but not, of course, in terms of investment.
The problem with creativity and producing stuff I have is that the internet ruins it as much as it enhances it. It is easier to show your stuff to other people - but you are constantly exposed to stuff that is just significantly better than yours.
I have started programming, flash animation, drawing, photoshop, half-life modding, video editing, serious RPGmaker projects and whatnot - and always stopped after one or two mostly unfinished projects because I couldn't overcome obstacles fast enough while looking at the great stuff other people do.

I can see myself getting into LBP2... It will depend on the flexibility and accessibility of the editors. I don't miss m/kb for gaming at all - but level editors on consoles without m/kb support are an absolute pain.

One of the absolute highlights of my video gaming history was to play Half-Life matches on a map that I had planned, sketched and created entirely by myself, and to see people use the routes and hiding places in a way I intended.

The nice thing about Worldcraft, RPGmaker or WarioWare DIY is that you only needed basic math, that the interface was logical, that you had lots of premade objects to play around with and that even after a few tutorials, you could start experimenting. It'll be interesting to see how LBP managed to introduce players into the creation tools. Again WarioWare is a shining example of how to do it.

@get2sammyb: Oh I was just saying that the extended features of LBP2 are a little overwhelming at first glance is all.
I actually put together some fairly detailed levels in the LBP beta. The creation was far and away my favourite part of the game and easily what I spent the most time doing with it.
