Lollipop Chainsaw

Game » consists of 8 releases. First released on Jun 12, 2012

This deliberately ridiculous third-person action game stars Juliet Starling, a zombie-slaying cheerleader who's almost as handy with a chainsaw as she is with a pair of pom-poms.

Too early for Best Soundtrack?

I don't know if you know this, but Lollipop Chainsaw is out today and it is pretty god damn fun, And funny, too. Especially the descriptions for names zombies. Way chuckle worthy. But forget all that, let's talk about the soundtrack in this game. If you played Shadows of the Damned or really pretty much any Suda game in recent years you'd know that they all have pretty kickin rad tunes. But Lollipop Chainsaw has some pretty fucking awesome music. It's all thematically appropriate pop punk and surf rock. Kind of like a God Hand or something. And it all rules. All of it. But if that wasn't enough, it also has a great licensed soundtrack and amazingly appropriate use of said soundtrack. Such as Cherry Bomb playing in the main menu or Hey Mickey blasting when you use your Star Soul power or Lollipop when you shop online for swag.

Though I think the game is fun, I think the soundtrack is far and away the best thing about it. Seriously. It's fucking great.

Yes, yes and triple yes. Incredible soundtrack, super funny, and I kinda actually like really enjoy the gameplay. Which to be honest exceeds my usual expectations for a Suda 51 game. It's not as deep as other action games but that not really what it's trying to do. Crowd Controlling zombies to kill lots at once is pretty fun.

I have no interest in the game itself but I may have to give the soundtrack a listen if people think it could contend with the fucking incredible soundtrack from Journey.

Well Jimmie urine and Akira Yamaoka were on soundtrack duty. The soundtrack had to be awesome.

Just played it. It's way more fun than I thought it'd be, and "Lollipop Lollipop" as the shop music is awesome.

Gravity Rush's soundtrack is also amazingly good.

It's going to be a hard sell to try and beat Dragon's Dogma for best main menu theme, though.

Japanese version, because CAPCOM are apparently being bumholes concerning putting up the English version. And while I like the Japanese version, I think the English is a little more energetic during the verses.

As good as it is, it does not even compare.

I loved the Shadows of the Damned soundtrack. Like, alot. And I look forward to Lollipop and fully expect it to have a great soundtrack as well.

With all of that said, FEZ came out this year.

So far Max Payne 3 is my favourite soundtrack.

The timing of the music is just fantastic. It really gives it this weirdly upbeat rah rah rah cheerleader vibe that its trying to give. Which makes the slaying of zombies even weirder.

Don't start calling anything best of the year until the year is over. Who knows something may come to surprise you.

Haven't played much of it yet but I'm really loving the soundtrack so far. Perfect choices in licensed music for special moments and the Yamaoka stuff is fantastic too.

Nope, with Journey, Fez, and Skullgirls already smoking the competition in their far more original scores there is no way I would give it to Chainsaw

I challenge you with Dubstep of the Year from Borderlands 2.

You know 196.5% wub is too much even for "Hey Mickey".

Just finished the game earlier today, and the soundtrack is indeed pretty kickass throughout the whole game. Being able to customize the in-game tracks as well is a nice touch.

Yeah this is the best soundtrack and I felt like that BEFORE I heard Pac Man Fever. And then...holy shit.

It's gonna be hard to top this soundtrack. Pac Man Fever, Hey Mickey, Cherry Bomb, You Spin Me Round.
