In the follow-up to Lost Planet, players explore new environments as they see the story through the perspective of different groups of pirates trying to survive on E.D.N. III.
This weeks Famitsu Magazine confirms the feature in Lost Planet 2. As some of you Lost Planet fans may already know, producer Jun Takeuchi has in the past said that Capcom was hoping to get split screen offline co-op into the game.
Split screen in Lost Planet 2 will only be supported in two player play of the game's campaign mode. The individual game screens will be staggered in the same way seen in Resident Evil 5 -- one player on the upper left, the other player on the lower right, with both screens maintaining their aspect ratios.
Fans should expect new media on the game next week, if Capcom stick with their current media cycle, it's to be expected. Hopefully they'll show off more of the game's Vitality Suits.
Anyway, this is great news. I'm hoping to get some images and video of the split screen mode in action, until then, here's some new random screens:
I fully support any game willing to offer off-line split-screen functionality. I still haven't figured out why games like Call of Duty and such have taken a page from the Halo franchise and allowed for four player split-screen on system links and online. Is it seriously because of the forward progression systems?
Good to know. Probably gonna pick this up, and aside from playing online with buds, I'd like to share the experience with my bros here in my household as well. Glad to see they support offline co-op.
