    Lovely Planet is a first-person shooter set in a cutesy, colorful world. Players dodge enemy bullets and shoot their way to the end of each level. Described by Dan Ryckert as "The Koyaanisqatsi of video games."

    General Tips

    • Always move in the general direction of the finish
    • Spend as little time aiming as possible, it is most reliable to be moving straight forward
    • There are plenty of alternate routes in nearly every level, fences and rocks can often be jumped over or around to save a few seconds
    • Try different approaches to situations, moving left instead of right can be the difference between success and failure
    • The enemies and hazards follow and general colour code - red is dangerous, purple is a fast moving projectile, grey are friendly and should not be killed (with a few exceptions)

    Enemies & Hazards

    World 1 - City

    Red blobs are the most basic hazard. They do not move and disappear when shot. They do not need to be destroyed to pass the level. Some will move towards the player but they can be jumped over easily.
    Tall red guys are the most basic enemy, they cannot kill the player or move but must be killed in order to pass the level.
    Red cube guys can shoot at you but cannot move. They will sometimes be placed near grey cube guys in order to force the player to aim more accurately. Their bullets can be shot which destroys the bullet and the red cube guy.
    Bombs are triggered when entering certain areas, once they are fired they make a clicking noise and must be shot before hitting the ground to continue. In some levels they can be avoided by taking alternate routes.

    World 2 - Village

    Spikes are a basic hazard that kill the player upon touching. They act the same as red blobs, the only difference is appearance.
    Flying red cube guys act the same as red cube guys and fire at the player. They will be floating in the air but cannot move.

    World 3 - Forest

    Blue knobs trigger when the player enters the area around it, when triggered it will turn yellow and emit an expanding pink sphere which kills the player once the knob turns red.
    Hatted red cube guys shoot slow moving homing missiles. Their missiles usually must be shot down to pass the level, and shooting the missiles does not kill this enemy. After shooting down their missiles, the cube guy must also be shot to prevent the shooting of more missiles.

    World 4 - Swamp

    Hatted red tall guys spin quickly and trigger when the player enters the area around it. After a few seconds the player will be teleported to the start, so they must be destroyed quickly.
    Homing missiles act the same as the ones from a hatted red cube guy but appear from the fog. Must be shot down to continue.

    World 5 - Mountains

    Snow is the most difficult hazard, once touched you will be frozen in place for a few seconds. If you are going for speed, when touched they should be treated as red blobs and restart the level unless you are forced to touch the snow.
    Grey tall guys are are an exception to the general colour code, they can and usually should be shot. When fired at, the player will switch positions with the grey tall guy after a brief delay. They are extraordinarily useful to minimize time.

    Angry grey cube guys are another exception to the general colour code, they will fire at the player once (the angel variety will fire multiple times) and they shoot fast homing bullets that must be shot down
