In this week Famitsu, Image epoch has announced a new game in the Luminous Arc series for Nintendo DS. The Japanese weekly confirmed a few minor details -

- Yasunori Mitsuda will be the game’s sound producer (Chrono Trigger’s composer, yay!)
- It’s due out this Winter in Japan
- You play as a student at the Ulgard Magic Academy where you’ll interact with friends and rivals
- Through these interactions you can build friendships/rivalries to change the story, and get different endings.

I have always wanted to get the first two games, but never got around to it. One day :-) They should go the whole distance and make a Wii game of the same quality and depth - that would be cool.

I tried the first a bit and didn't really like how unbalanced it was so I'm not 100%. The main character's name is Lefi, does it sound familiar? I don't think the stories between the games have any canonical ties though.
