I dunno what the deal is but Lydia refuses to wear clothing in our Whiterun home. She sits naked at that little table in my room eating her bread and minding her own business. I've given her Elven armor after feeling like she was originally rejecting the Steel armor i originally gave to her.

Now that i have a new home in Markarth things have been fine for me but every time i stop by my house in Whiterun to transfer my supplies things have just become awkward.

Off topic here, but I don't feel this requires a new topic. Can you change your companions armor? I tried giving Lydia new stuff and the only things that I can seem to change on her are her sword, shield and helmet.

She'll wear an entirely new suit of armor. The thing is, she's already wearing some steel default armor, so she'll only wear your new armor if it's superior in stats to her innate armor. You need to give her better quality loot for her arms, chest, and feet.

@CL60: You can, it just has to have a higher armour rating.

I think she also only wears heavy armour so light armour won't work.

@FunExplosions: The steel was armor that i gave to her when i was using her as a pack mule, eventually she just stopped wearing it even though she had two of the same types in her inventory...i thought that was why she was buggin out, from having stacked items, so i took those from her and gave her Elven armor which she wore when i gave it to her but when i left my house and came back she was back to her old habits.
