    Overview

    The M-9 Tempest is the submachine gun in Mass Effect 2 with the highest damage. It is acquired during the Mission to rescue Tali. Because squadmates don't benefit from lower recoil, it is better to use this gun for your squadmates than the M-12 Locust.
     

    Stats

    The M-9 Tempest has a 450 rounds, and 50 rounds per clip (before upgrades). Through player driven tests, It has been determined that it has a a base DPS of 148 damage per second. According to an official post on the Bioware forums, it does 1.5 extra damage to shields and barriers. This makes it more effective against enemies with shields (such as Geth) or barriers (such as Collectors).
